Previous College and Prep School

The Class of 2007 includes 31.5% percent (387) from college and post-high school preparatory programs which include:

220 from Naval Academy Preparatory School (NAPS) in Newport, RI (5 having previously attended college)

31 from Nuclear Power School Program in Goose Creek, SC (six having previously attended college)
80 from US Naval Academy Foundation Program (52 from preparatory schools and 38 from colleges under Foundation sponsorship).
56 additional students have completed at least six months of study at a college or university (49) or a private preparatory school (7).

Military Background

The Class of 2007 includes 108 midshipmen who previously served as enlisted members of the Navy (90) or Marine Corps (18). This figure includes 13 who entered directly from Fleet Service (9 USN and 4 USMC), 31 from the Nuclear Power School and 64 from NAPS (50 USN and 14 USMC).

Geographical Distribution

Midshipmen were admitted from every state in the nation. The Class of 2007 also includes twelve international students from the following countries: Cameroon, Jamaica, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Saint Lucia (2), Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Tunisia (2).
