Military Background

The Class of 2010 includes 91 midshipmen who previously served as enlisted members of the Navy (64) or Marine Corps (26), and Air National Guard (1).

This figure includes 16 who entered directly from Fleet Service (5 USN, 10 USMC, 1 ANG), 18 USN from Nuclear Power School and 57 from NAPS (41 USN, 16 USMC).

 

Geographical Distribution

Midshipmen were admitted to the Class of 2010 from every state in the Nation as well as Washington DC, Guam and American Samoa. The class also includes 13 international students from the following countries: Algeria, Ecuador (2), El Salvador, Federated States of Micronesia, Jamaica, Korea, Lithuania, Malaysia, Pakistan (2), Romania, and Taiwan.

The Class of 2010 includes 23.5 % (285) minority midshipmen with ethnic backgrounds as follows:

Sons and Daughters of Alumni

The Class of 2010 includes 71 sons and 17 daughters of Naval Academy Alumni (7.3 percent of the class). Four sons and one daughter are children of female Naval Academy alumni (0.4 %).
