Military Background

The Class of 2011 includes 86 midshipmen who previously served as enlisted members of the Navy (63) or Marine Corps (23).

This figure includes 16 who entered directly from Fleet Service (12 USN, 4 USMC), 13 USN from Nuclear Power School and 50 prior enlisted who attended a year at NAPS (31 USN, 19 USMC).

The Class of 2011 includes 16 who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom (1 from the Navy and 15 from the Marine Corps) of whom 1 entered directly from the Navy and 2 entered directly from the Marine Coprs with 13 who entered via NAPS.
