It's time for Navy "Off Shore Sailing" to get a little
press, after all isn't the ocean what the Navy is all
about?
Just returned from two weeks on the East Coast to
attend the awesome, wet, Herndon climb and spend some
time with our son before he heads out for the
"Annapolis to Bermuda Race" on the "American Promise"
June 9th.
Anyone interested in following the race, log onto
www.bermudaoceanrace.com June 9th. We found this
info in the "Spin Sheet" publication in Annapolis.
I'll try to keep you informed if David is able to
contact us during this time, and I hope all of you out
there can add to this exciting adventure our mids will
encounter.
   GO NAVY!

Hi,
To anyone interested, I found the web site to follow
the race at (www.pyacht.com) when you get there, at
the bottom of the page it will say Follow the Bermuda
race on line and "click here".
We heard from David yesterday when they were 3
hours out and he said they were passing most of the
boats and the "American Promise" was performing well.
We checked the web site today and "American Promise"
had checked in but apparently it was unclear what
their Lat and Long is.
I understand that the J44's will also race to
Bermuda but I believe it will be from Newport in
August or later this month. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Weather is supposed to stay calm, but who knows on
the East Coast!
    Take care,
      GO NAVY WITH GODS SPEED!!

To All,
Deleted a message from a net member seeking the location of the Army-Navy
Game. Am I correct that the location of the stadium where Navy will beat
Army again this year is Raven Stadium?

Hi Dennis,

Yes, the game will be played in the PSINet stadium (Raven's Stadium). It
will be hard to get tickets (do I hear the word impossible) unless you have
them already. Hope you're going to be able to be there.

To all who are interested,
The "American Promise" arrived safely in Bermuda
at 0900 this morning. Unofficially, they took 2nd in
their division, more results later. A serious lack of
wind held them back as some of the lighter boats
caught what little wind there was.
I've talked to David and all are well and
extremely happy to be ashore! They were on a bus
heading out to see the town and eat, eat , eat, that's
my boy! Glenna, your son was with him and apparently
already had called you. Oh what a relief it is!
   GO NAVY!

Can anyone tell us if there is or when there will be a fall schedule for
the offshore sailing team? We want to visit in September, but also want to
make sure our son will be there for us to visit. If they do have a regatta,
does it encompass all possible leave time? I would appreciate any help.
Thanks.

To All B-Ball Fans:
It was announced in the local paper last week that after the brouhaha with
the Patriot League Finals this Spring, it has been decided that ALL of the
final games will be played at Alumni Hall, USNA, next year. It is the
largest of all the basketball venues in the league and will be close (in
distance) to the new expansion team (can't remember if it's American U or GW,
one of those in DC) that has recently been added. Sorry for the vagueness of
some of those points, but I didn't manage to save the article before it went
to recycling. At least you know to plan for the games here, if you can make
it to Crabtown!
