(email works great and I believe all coaches are listed on the navysports.com page.) I am sure they will have him bring all of his gear with him and leave it in the locker room -- and swim suits are issued to all plebes since they have to pass a swim test during plebe summer. The coach invited Michael to bring his golf clubs and store them in a locker at the golf course. He told Michael in the letter that Michael would have the opportunity to spend his intramural time at the golf course practicing hitting and putting, etc. and eventually try out for the golf team.
