A special message from your Moderators...

Please...

If you have any spare tickets to the A/N game, don't let them go to waste.
As I write this, we still have 9 Families looking for a total of 34 tickets.
Please take a moment to visit the Classifieds and call one of those
families. They're desperate for tickets. Singles, pairs, whatever you have
extra, these fellow members of our USNA-Net lists will buy them from you.

Our Classified Ads have worked wonderfully this fall. We've successfully
brought together over 65 Ticket Buyers with as many Sellers who sold over
200 tickets in the past two weeks.

Please help those few families who still need tickets. Go to our web site
at www.USNA.org and click on "Classifieds" in the main menu on the left of
the main page. You'll need the User Name and Password to access the
Classifieds. Here they are...

User Name: brigade
Password: navy58army12 (all lowercase - no spaces)

Your extra ticket will help another member of YOUR Navy family go to the
game to witness the BEST USNA FOOTBALL TEAM of the Millennium beat Army and
win the Commander In Chief's Trophy. Help us to make it happen.

Remember, when you're selling an extra ticket, it's usually next to your
seat. Think how nice it will be to sit next to that fellow member that YOU
helped to get in to see the game of the year. He or she might even buy you
a hot dog out of pure gratitude. :>)

GO NAVY!!! BEAT ARMY!!!

HOUSTON BOWL - WE NEED YOUR HELP!

This note is being sent to all alumni and midshipmen parents since we need
your best effort in ensuring Navy sells its allotment of 13,000 tickets (or
more) and getting those seats filled. Please cheer the Navy team on, and
encourage as many as possible of your family, friends and others to be in
Reliant Stadium. We will send you updates when our opponent is identified
and as more details on specific programs and events are known.

WE NEED YOUR HELP

The Navy football team and coach Paul Johnson have delivered! They are 7-4
heading into the Army-Navy game on 6 December in Philadelphia and will play
in the EV1.net Houston Bowl on 30 December in Houston, Texas.

Our next CRITICAL milestone in continuing the resurgence of Navy football is
ensuring Navy continues to be an attractive bowl participant. That will be
accomplished by the sale of our allotment of 13,000 (or more) tickets to the
EV1.net Houston Bowl. The "Bowl world" is watching us. Bowl sponsors want to
see whether Navy can generate the universally required sale of its bowl
tickets. Future bowl invitations will in large part be dependent on our
showing in Houston. To count as a "Navy ticket sale" game tickets MUST BE
BOUGHT THROUGH THE NAVAL ACADEMY ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION ticket office at
www.navysports.com or 1-800-US4-NAVY. The face value of each ticket is $57,
but to encourage Navy fan support, and accommodate our midshipmen and
enlisted Sailors and Marines, the NAAA is offering a "military discount"
with sideline tickets being $28.50 each.

TRAVEL AND TOUR PACKAGES

The Alumni Association has partnered with Anthony Travel, a leading Bowl
travel provider, to offer travel and hotel packages for all interested Navy
fans. Fore more information on package tours, hotel rooms or special events,
call Anthony Travel at 1-800-736-6377 or visit www.usna.com and click on the
blue button labeled "Houston Bowl game travel."

IF YOU CAN'T ATTEND THE GAME ON DECEMBER 30th

You can still make a very effective contribution to our football future by
purchasing Houston Bowl tickets through the Naval Academy Athletic
Association and donating the tickets back for the potential 2,000+
midshipmen who will travel to Houston and for active duty Navy and Marine
Corps personnel and their families in the greater Houston area. The purchase
price of your donated ticket(s) may be deductible. For example: a
tax-deductible donation of $114.00 will buy four "military discount" tickets
which you then donate back to the NAAA. You will provide the critical
support needed for the long-term future of the Navy football program. You
will also help spotlight the Brigade and enhance national awareness for the
Naval Academy.

SUPPORT NAVY FOOTBALL: BUY BOWL GAME TICKETS WWW.NAVYSPORTS.COM or at
1-800-US4-NAVY.

TRAVEL PACKAGES: ANTHONY TRAVEL 1-800-736-6377 OR WWW.USNA.COM

A special message from your Moderators...

We received this from one of our members and wanted to pass it on to our
entire membership. This way you will be getting the facts rather than
working on hear say or rumors. From Joe Leidig, Commandant of Midshipmen...

To The Brigade of Midshipmen,

As you know, our Navy Football team will be playing in the Ev1.net Bowl
game in Houston, Texas on TUES, 30 DEC against either Texas Tech or
Missouri. The game is being held in Houston's Reliant Stadium, home of the
Houston Texans and this year's Super Bowl. Kick-off for the Ev1.net Bowl is
1630 EST (1530 CST / Houston time).

I am asking for your support of our football team. As of this afternoon,
our cheerleaders and Drum & Bugle Corps have pledged their support to attend
the game.

I am asking every member of the Brigade to do the same -- take part of
your Christmas Break and travel to Houston, Texas to cheer on YOUR Navy
football team as they participate in a well-deserved bowl game. This is a
once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!!!

I also encourage you to bring your family, friends, parents and others
to this great event. The more Navy fans we can muster, the better!!

NAAA is also looking at possible activities for the midshipmen on 29 & 30
DEC, to include a pep rally on MON, 29 DEC and a pre-game pep rally on TUES
30 DEC. Also, the City of Houston is looking to offer reduced cost entrance
to the Astro World amusement park as well as possible tours to NASA. More
details to follow on these events.

   (1) To support midshipmen attendance at the game and to support the
football team as a loud and spirited Brigade, reimbursement for your
airfare (or POV mileage) and your game ticket will be provided. In return,
you will be required to participate in a short march-on and sit together
with the Brigade at the stadium. (A pre march-on formation will be held at
1200 CST, 30 Dec). This is a great opportunity for the Brigade to show the
nation your outstanding spirit and enthusiasm.

The Brigade seating section will be similar to a home football game,
seating for all midshipmen. Your parents, family and friends will be sitting
in a nearby section.

  Additional information:

     (2) In order to make this plan work, you must report to the MWF ticket
office in person NLT close of business (1600) 12 December 2003 to notify MWF
of your intentions to travel and attend the game and reserve your game
ticket. You will be required to pay $29 when you sign up. You will be
reimbursed for the cost of the ticket if you meet the above reimbursement
requirements. This includes midshipmen who have already purchased their
game tickets.

     (3) Save all receipts and airline itinerary for reimbursement. You
will be required to file these items, with your claim, through MWF.

     (4) Your airfare costs can be reimbursed up to $350.00. Airfare that
exceeds $350.00 will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Please see Laurie
Wells in MWF before booking your flight if it will exceed $350.00. A
current check of flights from major metropolitan areas show airline tickets
at less than $350 roundtrip.

       (5) If you attend the game with other family or friends, they will
not be allowed to sit with you.

       (6) If you POV to Houston, you will be reimbursed $0.36 per mile
from your leave address, to the stadium and back to your leave address; but
not to exceed $350.

        (7) Lodging/berthing is your responsibility but we are working to
find Houston area alumni homes where you can stay. We are currently working
with local Houston-area alumni who will make their homes available for you
to stay. We expect to begin sign-ups after 08 December 2003.
At this time, there are plenty of hotel rooms available close to Reliant
Stadium. The team and task force hotel is the Renaissance Houston. Cost is
$85 per night. Phone number is 713-850-2327 (Robin Moncrieffe, Sales
Manager). Another local hotel close to the Stadium is the Hilton Houston
Plaza. These are all-suite rooms and a 'Navy Fan' rate (cost TBD) will be
provided. Phone number is 713-313-4655 (Brad Strittmatter, Sales Manager).
Whatever hotel you call, inform the reservation clerk that you are a part of
the Navy Football / Brigade of
Midshipmen in support of the Ev1.net Bowl game.

        (8) Ground transportation to/from the airports or to/from Reliant
Stadium will be your responsibility. If staying with local Houston-area
alumni families, I recommend you make contact early with these 'sponsors' to
facilitate pick-up times at the airport. Matching of available host
families to midshipmen will occur on/after 08 DEC. Telephone and email
information will be passed at this time.  MWF/OPS will facilitate the match;
you must make contact to finalize lodging
with the host families.

        (9) Even though you are not on Movement order, you will be
considered in a duty status from 1200, 30 December 2003 until the last note
of Blue and Gold. As such, you may not consume alcohol 8 hours prior to the
1200 muster or until after the last note of Blue and Gold.

       (10) You are encouraged to plan ahead. Keep your chain of command
informed of your leave address. If your leave address changes, notify your
Company Officer. If your contact information changes, notify your Company
Officer. If while in Houston you experience difficulties, notify the Task
Force Commander. Cell phone and contact numbers will be provided.

        (11) Updates to the game day activities will be made available via
the USNA homepage (www.usna.edu) and foul weather hotline (410) 293-0032.

        (12) If you have questions, contact the MWF Ticket office or LT
Mike Morgan in the Commandant OPS Office. Both offices are located on 3-0.

R/CAPT Joe Leidig
Commandant

Thought you would like to see just how serious the Academy is to get as many
Mids to the Houston Bowl as they possibly can... Sandi

-----Original Message-------------

To the Brigade,

The Midshipmen Store, the Naval Academy Gift Shop, the Drydock and
Steerage Restaurants, the Officers' and Faculty Club, as well as all the
activities within the NAF Program Division that support the Brigade of
Midshipmen, are 110% behind our football team as they prepare for the
EV1.net Houston Bowl. In order to celebrate our victory over Army, our
winning of the Commander-in-Chief's Trophy, and our upcoming victory over
Texas Tech, the following additional benefits are being offered for those
Midshipmen attending the game in Houston:

1. In addition to reimbursement for your ticket ($29) and the cost of your
airfare (up to $350), all Midshipmen who attend the game and march on will
be eligible for a series of raffles leading up to the commencement of
Christmas leave. When you sign up for the game at the Midshipmen Welfare
Fund (MWF) office, you will automatically be entered for the raffles. The
faster you sign up, the better chance you have of winning as drawings
commence this week. The following is a list of the prizes:

(a) Reimbursement for one night's lodging at the Houston Bowl not to exceed
$100. If you are a winner, all you need do is submit your lodging receipt
along with your other receipts to MWF for reimbursement. There will be
multiple winners.

(b) Flying home for Christmas? Here's your chance to have your airfare
covered. If you are a winner, just bring a copy of your ticket to the MWF
office, and we will refund the full cost of a round trip ticket home and
back to Annapolis, no questions asked. Driving? Save your lodging and gas
receipts and get up to $300 cash back. Again, there will be multiple
winners.

(c) Midshipmen Store gift certificates ranging in value from $50 to $500.
The more Midshipmen that sign up to support our team, the more gift
certificates we will raffle off.

(d) How about a $100 voucher from the Drydock or the Steerage? Depending
on your appetite, it might feed you for a month. You got it, multiple
winners.

(e) A grand prize of one Spring Leave vacation package for two, to include
air fare and lodging. Details on this phenomenal package to follow. One
only, but it will be a good one.

2. Any Company with one-third or more of the Midshipmen from the company
attending the game will receive a free all-you-can-eat pizza party at the
Drydock Restaurant. The Company with the most Midshipmen attending the
game will receive a free formal Dining In dinner compliments of the
Officers' and Faculty Club.

3. The NAF Program Division, the Naval Academy Alumni Association, and the
Naval Academy Athletic Association have teamed together to sponsor a
fantastic pre-game tailgate party at Reliant Stadium on the day of the game.
Each Midshipmen who attends the game and marches on in support of our team
will be given up to four complimentary passes for this event. Look for more
details in the upcoming days.

Remember, you must sign up to attend the game through the MWF office to
be eligible for these raffles. The NAF Program Division wants as many
Midshipmen as possible to be part of this exciting sporting event. Let's
show the entire country what it means when the Naval Academy goes to a bowl
game.

For those of you attending the game, good luck on the raffles.

     GO NAVY, BEAT TEXAS TECH ! ! ! !

The NAF Program Division Team

A special message from your Moderators...

Jill Montone of the USNA Alumni Association called this morning to have us
put out the word that...

Every Midshipman attending the Houston Bowl game will get THREE
complimentary tickets to the USNA AA Tailgate, one for the Mid and two
additional tickets to be used as the Mid sees fit. So Mom and Dad can eat
for free as well. These tickets otherwise cost $30 each.

We will have details on how the Mids may obtain the complimentary tickets in
the next day or so. Stay tuned.
