A special message from your USNA-Net Moderators...
==================================================

We've Moved !!! To www.USNA.org.

We have NEW EMAIL ADDRESSES for all our lists....
(See details later in this email.)

Moved??? That's right, USNA-Net has finally completed its move from our old
home on a small Virtual Private Server to a dedicated computer (blade) with
our very own, private IP address and a server all to ourselves. No more
shared bandwidth and limited disk storage space.

Think of it this way. It's like moving out of a phone booth into a house
the size of Bancroft Hall.

It means improved performance of our web site and the ability to expand our
services without the worry that we will run out of storage space for either
our own web site or the 40+ web sites we host for Local Parents Clubs across
the country.

At last... Room to breath! And that means virtually unlimited space for
photos in our Photo Gallery and even the ability to serve up videos and
larger audio files when available.

We're looking forward to an exciting future of improved service and growth
in support of you, your Mids and the US Naval Academy.

Richard Albrecht (Ens. Meredith '04) and I have been working since last
August to get the new server up and running. It's taken a lot of work and I
wanted to make sure that Richard's selfless service to our organization was
properly recognized. It has involved lots of very detailed and tedious
work. Richard, all of us really appreciate your hard work.

We've tried to make the transition as seamless as possible. Little by
little the web site and all of the major features were migrated to the new
server. Some of you probably didn't even notice that the web site's URL
(address) changed from www.USNA-Net.org to just www.USNA.org in the past
months.

And the BEST part is that the NEW web address is short, sweet and very easy
to remember. Just remember it this way...

    The Academy is www.USNA.edu
    The Alumni Ass'n is www.USNA.com
    And USNA-Net is now www.USNA.org

Along with the change in our Web Site Address to www.USNA.org comes a change
to the email addresses for all of our Advice and Support lists. We weren't
forced to change them with the move but we wanted to simplify everything we
could for our members. And we think we have.

The NEW ADDRESSES for our lists are as follows...

Our Family list is now Family@USNA.org
Our Plebe list is now Plebe@USNA.org
Our Prayer list is now Prayer@USNA.org

Our Daily Weather Reports will now come from Weather@USNA.org
Our Clubs list for Club Officers is now Clubs@USNA.org
Our Single, Widowed Or Remarried/Divorced Parents list is SWORD@USNA.org

When you write to our lists, USE THE NEW ADDRESSES ABOVE for your messages.

We've also placed this information on our web site's FRONT PAGE at
www.USNA.org and in our Frequently Asked Questions at
www.usna.org/faqs/addressmail.html which you can always reach from the main
menu on our main page.

Check out Sandi's cute graphic on our main page with the A (Albrecht) to Z
(Zets) Movers' moving van finishing up it's last trip between stops on the
Internet Superhighway.

By the way, we may have finished the move but we haven't unpacked all the
boxes just yet. It will still be a few weeks before the last of the many,
many features are fully operational but the important stuff like our Free
Web Postcards, Classified Ads and our Lists have been working for a while.
Please be patient if a few things are still MIA but when you do find
something which isn't quite right, drop us a email letting us know what you
found.

Thanks to all for your support, your patience and your never ending
encouragement. We're looking forward to many more years of continued
operation at our new home at www.USNA.org.

Go Navy...
