A special message from your USNA-Net Moderators...
==================================================

A short reminder to all...

Our server does not accept messages which include a copy of a previous
message inside a new message or response. Please make sure that you delete
the "Quoted Original" before you hit the send button when responding to
message on our lists.

If you don't, your message will not be published by our server. Instead it
will be redirected to the Moderator for further action. This time of year,
your Moderators are very busy and it is entirely possible that the errant
message will be delayed for long periods or possibly even missed and never
sent on.

Why don't we want copies in our messages? Because, first, no one likes to
get messages which have copies of copies of copies included. And, secondly,
because every message to our lists is placed in our archives. This policy
reduces the burden such duplication forces upon our Archives, insures the
efficient use of our Web Site's search engine and reduces the volume of
email sent to our 3,500+ members.

For instructions on how to permanently fix this in your email program, visit
our web site at...

http://www.usna.org/mail/original.html

Thanks so much for your cooperation.

A special message from your USNA-Net Moderators...
==================================================

We had a question come to us regarding the Blue Star Pennants that a member
had seen hanging in a neighbor's front window. I thought I'd take a moment
to explain what they are and why they are displayed.

Any family who has a member serving in the Armed Forces is encouraged to
display one of these pennants in the window of their home to show their
support their family member who is serving our country in the Military. The
pennants are about 8" by 16" with a red border on a white background and
hang vertically. The number of blue stars signify the number of family
members who are currently serving.

Since all of our sons and daughters at the Academy are Active Duty Military,
all of our parents are eligible to display this pennant whether the family
member is a son, daughter, brother, sister, wife, husband, cousin,
grandchild, etc.. More Information may be found at...
    http://www.usna.org/on-linestore/bluestarfactsheet.html.

We have for the past four years or so, offered these pennants to our members
at a significant discount and used the proceeds to offset our annual
operating expenses here at USNA-Net. Many of our members have helped us by
purchasing one for their front window.

To see the pennant, visit
http://www.usna.org/on-linestore/bluestarorder_new.html

You can order one by calling us at 1 800 320-5373 (01).

We'll ship it out to you today.

I hope this answers the question and that you will join us in telling the
world just how proud we all are to have a son, daughter or grandchild
serving in the US Navy.

Thanks for your time.
