All messages sent to any USNA-Net list are required to be about "Navy Parenting" issues. Included in that category are a wealth of topics about our Mids, daily life at the Academy, and all sorts of Parental concerns related to being a parent of a Midshipman. This even includes things like tailgating at football games and your Mid's participation in their sport. But this wide spectrum of discussion topics does NOT extend to detailed discussions of Coach Johnson, play selection, and the passing stats of our quarterback. I must insist that our members abide by our rules and focus their participation in these lists on Navy Parenting. There are lots of members (myself included) who follow every game in detail and have strong opinions on things like play selection, player usage, game strategies and such but our lists are not the place for such discussions. The messages which appeared in the days since our first game were innocent messages but they just don't belong on these lists. I urge those members who have a need to do all that pre and post game analysis to find any one of the countless discussion "boards" which are designed specifically for those discussions and post their comments there. On those boards, you will be in the company of many, many like-minded fans, alumni, parents and even athletic department staff and can talk about all this to your heart's content. So let's remember that our mailing lists are here to provide "Advice and Support" on all manner of issues but they all must be related to our Mission of supporting parents of Midshipmen on topics related to Navy Parenting.
