Well... It's Cinco De Mayo and Commissioning is looming just a couple of weeks away. Then the countdown begins for the Class of 2011 to report for I-Day. Here's the thing... It's also that time of year when new parents begin to explore "all things USNA" and end up finding us in all the search engines. If you Google "USNA", we're listed 5th on the 1st page of results. But then, we've been around forever it seems. Actually, we've almost completed our ninth year of operation. (The web site has a birth day of 08 Jun 1998). And we owe it all to you, the parents who belong to our mailing lists and who visit our web site so often. As of this moment there have been 1,854,045 unique visitors to our main page at www.USNA.org since 9 Mar 1999 when I first installed a counter on the site. Now it's time to PAY IT FORWARD !!! We're asking ALL of our current members to seek out a 2011 parent and insure that they join our organization. It's not enough to just visit the Web site at www.USNA.org. They have to fill out the membership form ("How to Subscribe") in the main menu. YOU know how valuable all of this information is. YOU benefited many, many times over from reading all of the message traffic, even if you never once wrote a word to the group. Now find a new parent and introduce him or her to www.USNA.org. You'll feel better and THEY will thank you for the next four years. So during the next weeks when Parents Clubs are holding Picnics and get-togethers, be sure to remind the group and everyone you see to join www.USNA.org. It's only by YOUR word of mouth that we get advertised to the next class of parents. Do your part and get another parent to join. Whether it's graduating Firstie Parents or Newbie '11 parents, we have something to offer each and every one.and After all, we have more Grad parents on our Family List (with new officers fresh into Flight School, Subs, TBS, the Fleet) than anywhere else on the internet.
