==================================================

Again this year we have been in touch with the Chaplain's Office and have
been approved to send Care Packages for distribution to Plebes who do not
have family or friends who can send them packages.

Father Pete McGeory, Senior Chaplain, has agreed that anyone who wishes to
send a Care Package for those who won't otherwise get them, send them to...

    USNA-Net Care Package Program
    Chaplain's Center
    101 Cooper Road
    Annapolis, MD 231402

They must be mailed NO LATER THAN July 17th in order to be received and
distributed this summer.

Nothing fancy in the care packages. Just the same sort of stuff you might
pack into your own Plebe Card Package. You may include a note of
ENCOURAGEMENT with or without your name and return address. It's up to you.

On behalf of Father Pete and all of us here at USNA.org...

Thank you and God Bless.

we had it fixed at mid-afternoon but it appears that it continues.

Please be patient and try to understand that while these messages are

And could you please all not write to me to tell me about the problem.
There are 3,870 of you and only a couple of us. :>)

Can you help?

Again this year, USNA.org Parents are working together with the Chaplains'
Center to help in providing Care Packages for those Plebes who will not be
getting them from home. Every class has its share of new Plebes whose
parents are not able to provide Care Packages or who are older, priors or
foreign nationals, etc. who don't have relatives to send them even one care
package.

If you'd like to assist in the program, put together a regular care package
(one in plastic shoebox size container would be really nice since the
container will last the entire four years in their Con Locker) and address
it to...

USNA.org Care Packages
c/o USNA Chaplain's Center
101 Cooper Road
Annapolis MD 21402

Suggested contents: Rice Crispy Bars, Power Bars, Granola Bars, Fruit Bars,
Dried Fruit, Salted Peanuts, almonds, mixed nuts, HOME MADE COOKIES,
Twizzlers, Hard Candy, Something to suck on, Single Serving Water-packed
Tuna (Pop-tops only), Single Serving Cans of Fruit or Applesauce (Pop-tops
only), Cup-o-Soup, Beef Jerky, Mole skin for blisters, Masking Tape,
Assorted Bandages, Spray sunscreen, Unscented Antibacterial Soap, Cleaning
Supplies, White School Chalk, Shout Wipes and Bleach Pens, White-Out,
Febrezze Clean, lint free cotton rags/cloths.

It is important that these packages be mailed NO LATER THAN JULY 17th.

You may include a short NOTE OF ENCOURAGEMENT AND SUPPORT and sign it if you
wish or just sign it as coming from a fellow Plebe's parents.

Thanks to all of you who have already participated.

Again this year, USNA-Net is happy to help the Arizona Parents' Club get out
the word on their 2007-2008 Fund Raising Program. If you check the main
page of the USNA-Net website, beneath the Class of 2011 parent welcome
message, you will find an article all about it

Once again, they are selling Class Crest blankets ... The Class of 2008
Class Crest Blanket. Those of you with Mids in the Class of '08 should take
a look and place your order TODAY! The club has a limited supply and every
year we hear from Firstie parents who lament the fact that they waited too
long to order. These beautiful blankets sell out every year! Proceeds from
the sale support the Midshipmen from Arizona and provide a contribution to
the General Fund of the USNA Class of 2008.

If you want one ... don't wait!!

It isn't every day that we pass a milestone. So I thought I'd share this
one with you. This morning, I enrolled four new families into USNA.org and
the last one put our total active membership to 4,000 !!!

It seems like only a moment ago that Sandi and I started USNA-Net with the
first 30 Charter Members whose contact information we found on various
Parents Club Websites back in 1997. A few of those original members are
still with us. You know who you are. Thank you for your continued
participation.

I've been watching the membership number rise over the past months as new
'11 Parents join and grad parents leave. We had a big influx of '11 parents
after I-Day which has more than offset the '07s who are gradually leaving.
The net effect is that TODAY marks the largest current enrollment in our
history.

One of many things which as made us as successful as we are for so long is
our constant focus on our Mission of Parents Helping Parents. We continue
to remember what is was like to be a Newbie to all this Military "stuff."
And our group takes pride in the number of Upper-class Parents we still have
enrolled. Without a doubt, we are the largest single Mentoring group for
any of the Academies.

And most of all, we could never have done all this without YOU. Thousands
and thousands of kind, caring fellow parents who belong to this organization
for only one reason... To share Advice and Support with fellow Parents.
Our numbers are what they are today because YOU took time to tell other
Parents about USNA.org. How great the support is. How focused the emails
are on Navy Parenting.

So give yourselves a well deserved Bravo Zulu and keep up the good work.
This is YOUR network and we all benefit from being a part of it.

Thanks to all of you and don't forget... YOU are the best advertising we
have for this organization. Tell all your fellow parents about us whenever
you get a chance.

Go Navy - Go USNA - Go USNA.ORG !!
