Fellow Parents, Members of USNA-Net and Friends of our Naval Academy Community,
We have now begun our campaign for raising the funds necessary to keep USNA-Net operating for the next half year.
USNA-Net is a tax-exempt, 501(c)3, non-profit organization and provides its services for FREE to over 4,050 Parents of Midshipmen attending the United States Naval Academy. While all of the labor needed to set-up and operate all of the various Listservers and our USNA-Net Web Site is provided on a completely volunteer basis, USNA-Net still incurs various operating costs. We, therefore, ask our members to help us defray these very real expenses through donations.
Our budget for this drive is $3,400 . These funds will be used to operate all of USNA-Net's functions in support of its USNA Listservers, Web Sites and Parents' Clubs. Click the button above for the details of our Budget. It shows exactly how these funds will be used. USNA-Net has now finished building the infrastructure we feel is necessary to support our Navy Community. Our greatest asset is our flexibility to adopt the technology we know the community will need and use.
We operate EIGHT different Mailing Lists for our diverse membership and to meet their needs including our newest addition - TheGougetm newsletter to supply the latest news about our Naval Academy community. We have added such features as a Search Engine for Website and our Archives (now over 19 MILLION words), Members' Only Classified Ads, even Electronic Postcards, custom Wallpaper and Screen Savers for our members' use.
In addition, we have expanded our operation to allow any USNA Parents' Club that wishes to operate their own Club Web Site to do so for the exclusive use of their local Parents' Club at no cost or obligation to the club. To date, USNA-Net sponsors 42 Parents' Club Web Sites through your generosity.
And don't forget our SAFE HARBOR program which provides 24/7 Emergency Assistance to USNA Midshipmen virtually anywhere. It is a one-of-a-kind program staffed by over 1,250 Volunteer Parents with Toll Free telephone access to our network of USNA-Net volunteer members around the world, each one ready to drop what they are doing and provide emergency assistance to a Midshipman in their area.
None of this would exist today if it were not for the generosity of those members who have supported our USNA-Net programs in the past. Please do what you can in support of our current campaign so we might continue to provide these totally volunteer based services.
