Q: Why are there different lists? A: - Everyone is subscribed to USNA-Family. Some of the members who are parents of upper class Midshipmen prefer not to listen in on all of the message traffic that centers around Plebe matters and have asked not to be copied in these discussion topics. Therefore, subjects that deal mostly with Plebes are handled through USNA-Plebe. When you send a message to USNA-Family, it is received by EVERYONE on our service. But when you send a message to USNA-Plebe it goes to only about 70 percent of our membership who specifically want to be included in discussions of Plebe related topics. That's not to say that only Plebe Parents belong to USNA-Plebe. Over half of USNA-Plebe is composed of non-Plebe Parents who want to share their experience with incoming parents. They've been through it before and want to help new parents get through Plebe Summer and the balance of the first year at the Yard with as few problems as possible. Because RELIGIOUS references are prohibited on other USNA-Net lists, many of our members have joined USNA-Prayer where free expression of all Religious views are permitted. Members use this list to post Prayers, Prayer Requests, Meditations, Scripture References and share many religious experiences. |
