Area Airports...

As you can see in the Map above, BWI is the closest Airport to the Academy.  Reagan is DOWNTOWN D.C. and can be a challenge to get to or from depending the the time of day and traffic.  Dulles is almost twice as far as Reagan and can take three hours, two buses and two trains to reach.

(All Public Transportation to Dulles and Reagan require a trip thru BWI to get to the closest D.C. Subway Station to the Academy.)

Warning!  Schedule Flights ONLY in and out of BWI.  The other two airports are too far and costly to reach by taxi.

  • I-695 Baltimore Outer Belt to I-97 South
  • I-97 South to Hwy 50 East toward the Bay Bridge
  • Hwy 50 East to Hwy 70 South (Annapolis Exit)
  • Right on Hwy 70 (Rowe Boulevard) to Taylor Avenue (Red Light)
  • Left on Taylor two blocks to Annapolis Street (Stop Sign)

    $3.00 One Way - Serving Annapolis, BWI Airport and Light Rail, MARC and AMTRAK and Arundel Mills

    Leaving Annapolis Transit's Spa Road Transfer Point (at Dept. of Public Works) every two-hours on the ODD hour.

    Fare is $3.00 one-way; exact change required. Driver does not handle cash. Or, you may have your driver punch four holes on your orange commuter pass. There is NO PARKING at Spa Rd. Customers are asked to arrive 15 minutes before departure.

  • BWI Shuttle Express - 1-800-BLUE VAN (1 800 258-3826)
         Pick up at Gate 1 Direct to BWI Departure Ramp

         SuperShuttle desk located between Baggage Claims 6 and 7  6:00 AM and 2:00 AM.
         During other times call 888-826-2700 to arrange service.

         Fare: $29.00 One Way - $11.00 each additional person
         Reservations Required 24 hours in advance - Prepay

Reagan International Airport - Washington D.C.

  • Take Metro Subway (www.WMATA.com) from Reagan International Airport Yellow Line to Mount Vernon Station.  Transfer to Green Line and take to Greenbelt Station.
  • Take a Shuttle Bus from Greenbelt to BWI (lower level Pier E).  Bus # B30
  • There is a price break on the Shuttle with a rail-to-bus transfer. (Riders must pick up transfers when they enter the Metro System.)  It runs every 40 minutes incl. weekends and takes 1/2 hr.
  • Then take Public Transportation from BWI to Annapolis

DULLES - Airport Washington D.C.

  • From Airport Bus Stop @ Curb 2E take the Metrobus to L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station.
  • Transfer to the Metro (Subway) and take the Green Line To the Greenbelt Metro Station.
  • Transfer to Metrobus #B30 to BWI Airport.
  • Then take Public Transportation from BWI to Annapolis
